I started a baby blanket for a friend's baby, and I'm about halfway done. It's hard to tell with the flash, but the colors are a cantaloupe and raspberry combo. Not really traditional baby colors, but it will coordinate well with the warmer tones they've chosen for the nursery. Yarns are Caron Simply Soft in Strawberry and Fuchsia, purchased through Herrschner's. I really like this yarn as acrylics go. It's very, very soft, and the color selection is nice.
I didn't use a pattern, but I was inspired by the stripes on this blanket I found on Ravelry.
This scarf is based on the Blue Bell Hill pattern, but my repeats and yarn (again, Caron SS in Blue Mint, White, Limelight, and a light heather grey I can't find anymore) are different.
I started a sweater as well, but I'm not crazy about it. It may be frogged and the yarn used for other projects. I have another baby blanket I've committed to, but the baby isn't due until May. I have another friend due in July who will also likely receive a handmade gift or two. I'm a really slow knitter, but I'm determined to get these done!
Upcoming fiber festivals I'm attending:
Oxford, MS Fiber Arts Festival - This one is local to me, so I'm excited to go.
Magnolia State Fiber Festival - I'll be meeting up with several friends and having a girls' weekend. Super excited about this one!
